AEJEE Screenshot of hurricane tracks ArcExplorer Java Edition for Education (AEJEE) is a downloadable, lightweight GIS tool for exploring geographic data. AEJEE can save and open projects, so work can be shared between users, or between school and home. AEJEE can classify and symbolize shapefiles, integrate a wide array of image data, project on-the-fly shapefiles stored in decimal degree, and use data distributed over the Internet hosted on ArcIMS sites.

    Windows 7 and Vista users: Before running the installer, set "install.exe" to Windows XP under the "Compatibility Mode" tab. Depending on Windows Vista or 7 configuration, you may need to run AEJEE in "Classic Mode". More information.

Software Tutorials
    Once installed, a 58 page PDF introduction and tutorial is available directly from the AEJEE Help Menu. The tutorial introduces all software functions via five lessons. Additional information is provided in the tutorial appendices. A downloadable copy of the tutorial also is available.
