Case Study: University of Calgary 3D Campus Modelling
The University of Calgary designed a 3D model of the campus using Lidar data and high resolution aerial photography. The resulting poster shows some of the intermediate stages as well as the final product. Vectors were generated from orthorectified images which were then combined with Lidar data to extract elevation heights. Lidar data was combined with tree locations to generate buffers which were then used to extract tree heights. These heights were used as attributes to scale trees accurately within this model. Buildings were generated in low resolution models and more accurately detailed in ArcScene.
