The Colorado State Library has worked with public libraries in Colorado to create GIS mapping projects that show the distribution of their library users in relation to geographic features, such as branch locations and book mobiles. These efforts allow the decision makers at the libraries to take a geospatial approach to understanding their community demographics, analyze library use patterns, explain statistical trends, and assist in making management decisions.
