Description:

Buying locally grown food provides us with fresh, nutritious food that is of the highest quality and tastes fantastic. Buying locally not only helps support the agricultural community and preserves family farms and rural heritage, but it is also beneficial to the local and regional economy as well as the environment. Additionally, buying locally can be healthy! In this lesson pack, students will determine if it is feasible to follow the Canada's Food Guide in Ontario taking into consideration the 100-Mile diet. For the purpose of this lesson, we will use kilometres instead of miles. For data and additional lessons/resources please visit: http://edu.esricanada.com/teachingmaterials
