What is the scariest road you have ever been on? While "scary" is a subjective term, roads that hug cliffs such as on Haleakala Volcano, Going to the Sun Road in Glacier National Park, and Shelf Road in Colorado come to mind. In this lesson, let us consider the Yungas Road that connects La Paz and Coroico, Bolivia, named El Camino de la Muerte, or “Death Road.” This lesson uses the profile tool, measurement, Sketch-A-Map, and other tools and provides an example of how to integrate discussion and geotechnology tools to investigate an interesting and geospatial topic.
