In a state of "total war", the major participants placed their entire economic, industrial, and scientific capabilities at the service of the war effort, erasing the distinction between civilian and military resources. In this lesson, students will be able to recognize the pattern and inductively arrive at a generalization about the immense geographic scope and the human and monetary cost of World War II.
