Join us as we are on the trail and telling the tale of invasive plant species in New Hampshire. Douglas Cygan, invasive species coordinator for the NH Department of Agriculture, will present an in-depth look at upland invasive plant species; including New Hampshire rules and regulations, characteristics, identifying features and control measures of some of the most aggressive non-native plants here in the Granite State. Then we are on the trail to find some of these noxious trouble makers, collecting their pictures and GPS points. We will then return to the conference center to process the collected information into a story map combining pictures, text, and the mapped locations in a process that can be duplicated by your students! Bring your computer or use one of ours. We will have about 15 computers available, but as the GIS that will be used is all web-based, participants can also bring their own laptop. Directions: Meet at Church Landing, Cathedral Suite. All Day - 9:00 am - 4:00 PM Location: We'll base from the conference center and car pool around Meredith. Presenters:Ina Ahern, Plymouth Regional High School. Douglas Cygan, Invasive Species Coordinator for the NH Department of Agriculture. Judy Tumosa, New Hampshire Fish and Game Department. Bob Woolner, Hopkinton Middle High School.
