The ESRI Development Center program provides special status to university departments
that have an exemplary focus on educating students to design and develop ESRI GIS applications.
Offering both an Interdisciplinary Applications Certificate and an A.S. degree in GIS, ARC initiated GIS course instruction in 1997. In 2001, ARC’s GIS program received the “Excellence in Education” award from the California Geographic Information Association.
