Ten years ago I created a high school course on Natural Resource Management, utilizing GIS software. In this course students gather data from the field and combined with state digital data the have generated a series of maps. During the last five years I have created a manual that develops students' GIS skills and outlines the QA/QC protocols for collecting the natural resource data. The idea here is to have quality data that can be archived and serve as baseline data for future research.
