I teach a geography inclusion elective to 9-12 grade students. In addition to using GIS to explore and analyze global geographic information, we focus a lot on local issues. So far, we have published two Community Atlases...you can check them out by searching for "Port Huron" in the school name.
Most recently we have used GIS to explore Tibetan art and to map invasive species found in our community (Phragmites and Purple Loosestrive) as well as on a continental scale.
